I have learned to let you go,
But I can’t let you be.
The thought of you with someone new
It hurts, how could I let that be?
There’s new hearts on the line,
But I just can’t let you be.
There you come again. In my dreams,
In my memories, In the phrases from the strangers,
In the things you like, that remind me of you.
How could I possibly let you be?
You were wrong, So was I.
Maybe I a little more.
I see it now but we are no more.
I have all the intellect
but I haven’t arrived to the conclusion.
Brain says it’s easy, chase the new tail.
Heart says a different story, sadly I can’t hear.
I have learned how to let you go.
I let you go a little more each day.
But I can’t let you be.
